Omogo-sangaku Museum
A museum that showcases the enchantment of Omogo-kei gorge and Mount Ishizuchi
A “mountain” museum at the entrance of Omogo-kei gorge. Using an abundance of resources including specimens, models, and dioramas, the museum introduces the geological history of Mt. Ishizuchi and Omogo-kei, the history of insects, animals, alpine vegetation and mountain climbing of the Ishizuchi Mountain Range, as well as the mountain religion. With advanced reservation, visitors can also receive a guided tour by a curator. Besides the permanent exhibition, the museum also offers various events such as special exhibitions, nature observation groups, and workshops on insects, attracting many types of participants from families to nature lovers.
