Ōtabi-no-taki Waterfall

The magnificent illuminated icefall is a must-see

A famous waterfall that is 35-meters high and located at the climbing entrance of the Tebako-yama mountain (1,806m) on the UFO Line (Kamega-mori Forest Road). In the winter, the waterfall freezes to become a massive icefall. It is illuminated and the fantastical sight can be seen from a roadside overlook. Best time for viewing icefall: Late December through late February.
