Railway History Park in Saijō

A must-see spot for train enthusiasts with a shinkansen exhibition

A place for sightseeing and social exchange containing four facilities, which are the two Shikoku Railway Culture Center North ad South Wings, Shinji Sogō Memorial Museum, and Tourist Information Center. Visitors can learn about railways and places of attraction in Saijō City. They are introduced to SOGŌ Shinji who is called “the father of Shinkansen,” and get a close-up view of the 0 Series Shinkansen bullet train, Class DF50 Diesel Locomotive, Class C57 Steam Locomotive that fans have nicknamed “Lady,” the former express-train KiHa 65 Express Railcar, Class DE10 Diesel Locomotive, and Free Gauge Train Second-Generation Test-run Train.
