See the traditional paper-making process. You can buy paper products and see washi papers on display.
A studio that makes and sells Shūsō-tesuki-washi (handmade paper), a time-honored craftwork of Saijo City with a long history and tradition that began in the Tenpō era (1830-1844). Danshi paper and calligraphy paper are made in the studio, and visitors can watch artisans carry out various steps in the paper-making process such as straining paper pulp and creating creases in danshi paper. The adjacent washi museum displays paintings and prints made with handmade Shūsō paper, and sells washi products such as postcards, sheets for placing tea ceremony sweets on, and gift money envelopes.
