Keisentei Omogo-Chaya

Spend time at a café while viewing Kamebara, the enormous monolith of Omogo-kei gorge

Kamebara, an almost perpendicular rock-cliff that looms at 110 meters and is as wide as 200 meters, is one of the most magnificent views in Omogo-kei gorge. While viewing the stunning Kamebara towering before their eyes, guests can enjoy the Omogo meal set at ¥1,200, which includes amago salmon (glazed or salted), sashimi konnyaku*, and a local specialty—dumpling soup. We invite you to sit at our newly furnished counter at the front of our tea house and enjoy a cup of one of our original blend coffees (Omogokei, Ishizuchi-san, or Goraikō-no-taki) or Teppen tea made with tea leaves grown in our town. You can go down to the Omogo-gawa and enjoy sitting on one of the rocks and putting your feet in the cold water of the river. Visits during the spring time of fresh greenery, summer, or fall foliage are especially delightful.
* jelly-like food made from the starch of konnyaku potato
